Description


Purpose Statement / Position Summary

Provides a broad range of word processing and clerical duties within established procedures. Exercises initiative and competency in such responsibilities as receiving phone calls and visitors, maintaining files and record systems, preparation of regular memos, reports, and routine correspondence. Performs editing and proofreading functions from rough copies.

Essential Job Outcomes & Functions

1. Ability to accurately prepare correspondence and reports utilizing the computer and/or typewriter.

2. Assure prompt handling of all telephone calls and telephone request and assure the accurate recording of information for the staff to respond to request(s).

3. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.

4. Must be able to submit all correspondence within the required timeframe.

5. Must be organized,and have the ability to schedule appointments and coordinate arrangements for meetings.

6. Collect and distribute mail in a timely manner, and in accordance with established department procedures.

7. Offers to assist others when work is completed without being prompted.

8. To increase performance improvement and create a cooperative team environment the department secretary creates and supports a ‘no gossip’ work environment. All issues and complaints go up to the supervisor and not to coworkers who can’t do anything about the issue.

Pay Range: $20/hr - $28.34/hr

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements / Work Experience

  • 1-2 years clerical/secretarial experience.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to type 45-55 WPM.
Education / Licensure / Certification
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years College or demonstrated courses in secretarial/business preferred
