UVU’s People and Culture department (known as Human Resources to others) is in search of a dedicated and reliable individual to take on the role of People & Culture Service Center Specialist. Working under general supervision, performs technical and clerical tasks primarily for the HRIS function of People & Culture. Processes paperwork in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable university policies and state/federal regulations. Provides information and assistance to employees and customers related to the administration of the HRIS areas within P&C. Assists with research for all areas of P&C and Payroll as needed. Performs other related duties all within the context of the P&C department’s mission.
- Manages incoming calls as well as walk-in traffic from faculty, students, staff and the general public. This includes disseminating information, recording, assisting with general questions, troubleshooting, and routing to the appropriate personnel and/or institutional area.
- Processes incoming paperwork, ensuring completeness and compliance with applicable university policies and state/federal regulations. Inputs accurate, detailed, and maintain confidential data within HRIS System (BANNER), and other related systems.

- Maintains and updates UVHire, background check, and I-9 information in the HRIS system to ensure proper recording, routing, retention, storage and/or disposition of all documents received by the center, in accordance with established policies and procedural guidelines. Assists various HR areas with special projects or events as assigned. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties; OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.
- Knowledge of the department’s processes, procedures, and documentation, as applicable to a public institution.
- Knowledge of general office etiquette to maintain a professional environment.
- Knowledge of computer software applications and data input, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, calendaring, and Word.
- Working knowledge of automated job application systems and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally and effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse University community.
