Job Description:
Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures, applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology and/or as a means of therapy. Operates all the equipment utilized within the department, and develops and organizes films for presentation to the radiologist. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow co-workers, ancillary departments, and Medical Staff. Works under the supervision of the Imaging Director/Manager. The Special procedure technologist must be capable of cross training to all aspects of Cardiac Cath Lab, to include, but not limited to: Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations, Interventional Cardiac Catheterizations, Permanent Pacemaker and AICD Implants, Temporary pacemaker insertions, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump Insertions, assist with sterile set up of PICC line trays. Will be required to interpret EKG rhythms with 90% accuracy. Work between special procedures and cardiac cath lab is required on a regular basis with demonstrated competencies. Call coverage of both Special procedures and Cardiac Cath Lab required with demonstrated competencies.

• Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• 
  Florida State Rad Tech (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) with certification in Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Electrophysiology Specialist (RECS) required
• 
  Two years interventional cardiology with 500 PCI hours experience preferred.
• Registered with the ARRT (R) required
• 
  State Certified as a General Radiographer
• 
  Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 
  Registered as a Interventional Technologist preferred
• 
  Previous experience in Cardiac Cath preferred.
• 
  Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtain within 6 months of hire/transfer/job description change.
• 
  Ability to take call as needed to meet department needs.
• 
  On call required for this position (Min 14 days/month/2 weekends per month) based on department needs.
• 
  Must have ability to be on site within 30 minutes of call back
