Job description
The individual will teach Science (Living Environment) to students in a 6:1:1 classroom setting for high school age students. The individual must have knowledge regarding or experience with students with significant emotional and behavioral disabilities, including cognitive delays. Strong behavior management and leadership skills, and the ability to modify curriculum to meet students' needs, are required. The individual must be a team player and work collaboratively with support staff. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, an understanding of autism, and best practices in working with students with disabilities are preferred. Experience with writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including progress monitoring and the ability to incorporate a variety of technological resources into instruction, is desired. Knowledge of or experience with the Science curriculum and how to modify it to the student's needs is desired. The individual must have or be eligible for appropriate teaching certification upon hire. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Assignment is subject to change.
Effective Date: August 30, 2023
Salary range is $41,500 to $98,405. The foregoing range is pursuant to contractual salary schedules. The offered salary will be dependent upon the candidate?s qualifications and experience.
