Job description
Position Summary: Acton-Boxborough Regional High School is seeking skilled and experienced special education teacher to serve within its Occupational Development Program. The program is designed to provide students with functional academics, pre-vocational and vocational skills, and adaptive daily living skills. Students are included in a variety general education classrooms as appropriate. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Plan effective specialized instruction and intervention for students on IEPs within the program;Seek out inclusionary opportunities within the high school and community at large;Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students referred for three-year reevaluations of caseload students;Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems; Schedule, prepare for, and chair Team meetings for caseload students;Facilitate and teach courses based on student needWrite comprehensive progress reports and IEPsCollaborate with general education and related service staff with respect to appropriate services, accommodations and modifications;Provide ongoing positive communication with parents;Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals;Supervise and plan for educational assistants to support students throughout the day;Assess for and facilitate transition planningDevelop MCAS-Alt portfolios
