Job description
Duxbury Middle School is seeking a highly qualified certified Special Education teacher for the Grade 6-8 Social Emotional Classroom.
Requirements:
- Current certification from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education with SEI Endorsement - Special Education, Moderate (PreK-8 or 5-12)
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from accredited college or university
- Classroom management skills that support students social emotional learning
- Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners
- Ability to plan and implement lessons that are aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience working with students identified with social, emotional, and/or behavioral health disabilities as a primary disability
- Previous experience with the implementation of behavior intervention plans and data collection
- Previous experience with trauma informed approaches
- Previous experience managing and leveraging instructional assistants
- Restraint trained (Safety Care, or another vendor)
