Duxbury Middle School is seeking a highly qualified certified Special Education teacher for the Grade 6-8 Social Emotional Classroom.

Requirements:

- Current certification from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education with SEI Endorsement - Special Education, Moderate (PreK-8 or 5-12)

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from accredited college or university
• Classroom management skills that support students social emotional learning
• Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners
• Ability to plan and implement lessons that are aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience working with students identified with social, emotional, and/or behavioral health disabilities as a primary disability
• Previous experience with the implementation of behavior intervention plans and data collection
• Previous experience with trauma informed approaches
• Previous experience managing and leveraging instructional assistants
• Restraint trained (Safety Care, or another vendor)
