This position is accountable for the acquisition of requested products, equipment, and services for assigned areas in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The incumbent works and communicates directly with all levels of Intermountain Healthcare personnel, and suppliers.Work Shift: Monday - Friday; 6:30am- 3:00pm. Flexible schedule is a must
Scope
1. Responsible for purchasing & receiving all food and non food items for the Nutrition Services department.
2. Responsible for stocking, rotating and auditing all storage areas including Walk-In Freezers, Walk-In Fridges, Dry Store Rooms.
3. Reports to the executive chef and will partner with the patient services manager, retail & catering manager, nutrition care manager & department director.
4. Will ensure required products are on hand as needed, and when applicable, suitable approved substitutes are sourced.
5. ServSafe Manager Certificate not required, but highly desirable.
6. Complete monthly food & non food item inventory.
7. Responsible for & auditing and tracking invoices from vendors & submitting in timely manner.
8. Has strong communication skills to effectively communicate with several departments throughout hospital.
9. Has strong organization skills to effectively manage inventory and help keep food waste down.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Preferred
Two (2) years of food service purchasing or equivalent is preferred Two (2) years of HACCP experience is preferred
Physical Requirements:
Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computer monitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.Location:
