POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As part of the Strategic Sourcing team, the Buyer is responsible for developing and managing relationships with suppliers and the procurement of goods and services for the business. This position will oversee and negotiate contracts with suppliers, assess financial risks of purchases, liaise with Supply Chain and management. The role requires a highly analytical individual with excellent negotiation and supplier management skills, as well as a solid technical understanding of packaging materials. Candidates should be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively while being a positive reflection of corporate values.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for the Induction Liner, Colorant, and Corrugated Box categories

· Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with business objectives

· Analyze market trends and leverage supplier intelligence to optimize purchasing decisions and achieve cost savings targets

· Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within budget

· Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and manage supplier risk

· Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function

· Assist in the procurement of other indirect categories as required

· Communicate/escalate issues as they arise with leadership

REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTITUDES:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic purchasing, supplier management, and supply chain management

· Experience in packaging materials procurement, particularly in the Induction Liner, Colorant, and Corrugated Box categories, is highly desirable

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions

· Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings targets

· Experience in managing supplier relationships and supplier performance

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Propensity for problem solving and continuous improvement

· High level of integrity and dependability

· Ability to work under pressure

· Positive attitude and strong work ethic

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties, the employee will be required to sit and/or stand, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands, fingers and arms feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May be required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. May need to walk varying distances and climb stairs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
