TEST ENGINEER
JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
- Provides software testing services for a web-based financial system.
- Uses test scripts to perform test as well as prerequisites, input file information, batch job parameters and expected results.
- Creates test data when necessary.
- Records and documents results and compares to expected results.
- Interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis.
- Attends meetings to track the testing progress.
- Reviews and supports requirement changes for new development projects.
- Creates Support Requests in JIRA for defects or issues.
- Executes SQL statements to ensure Data Integrity in the database.
- Performs a variety of testing phases which include Cycle testing, User-Acceptance testing, Regression testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Responsible as backup for “File Gate Keeper” tasks including the following:
- obtain and create test files per request from testers
- upload IPAC outbound files to Treasury QA System
- download interface IPAC inbound (confirmation) files from Treasury QA system and provide the inbound file to the tester
- place the test files into the proper directory.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Management, or related field of study
- 2-4 years of experience as a software testing engineer
- Experience with Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, and SQL
- Experience with Pegasys financial system a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and deductive reasoning
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
