Job Summary

Software Engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and writing code in various languages. Using the gathered information, one will create and define project scopes, set in place a plan of action and execute action items based on this plan. This role is vital in the consistent expansion and improvement of the company’s future technologies to keep us as the most advanced player in a fast-paced industry.

Primary Responsibilities

• Meet and work with other business, engineering, CAD, marketing and manufacturing leaders to discuss projects
• Gather necessary information and requirements from said leaders to complete a project
• Develop and maintain project scopes, reports and updates
• Develop and create software that ranges from desktop to web based depending on requirements
• Maintain and continually upgrade existing software created by you or other team members
• Assist Technologies Manager and Director of Business Applications in organizing, reporting and presenting project progress
• Work cross-functionally with other colleagues and teams to develop products
• Perform engineering calculations and provide technical support during project development
• Research and understand the technical aspects of the construction products industry in relation to customer (internal and external) needs and outlook.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and materials relative to our business
• Research adjacent markets for product and technology opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

• 4 year/Bachelors degree Specialty/major: Software/IT/Computer Science or Similar
• Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
