Job Title: Social Worker - Homeless Outreach
Type: Full Time, Benefits available
Shift: Monday-Friday
Location: East Los Angeles, CA
Social Service Professionals, "the professional's choice" for careers in Social Work, is looking to hire multiple Social Workers for the East Los Angeles area to help the homeless. We are looking for a Social Workers to work as a either a Housing Navigator (providing housing assistance to the homeless) or as an Outreach Case Manager (connecting the homeless to available resources). Both positions are field based. These are full-time positions, with benefits available. Your efforts will make a difference in the lives of others everyday!

Responsibilities:
-Assist clients with housing applications, complete supportive and subsidized housing paperwork, survey rental market for affordable housing, and advocate for clients with prospective landlords.
-Willingness to work out in the field engaging landlords/property managers
-Evaluate patients’ psycho-social needs;
-Evaluate patients’ family/social situation to support a treatment plan;
-Utilize community resources to assist patients’ psycho-social and homeless needs;
-Document history, care plans and prepare reports as needed.
Experience Requirements:
-1 to 2 years of experience as a Social Worker. Must have previous experience working with the homeless population. New Grads will not be considered.
Education Requirements:
-Graduation from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, preferred.
Qualifications:
- Spanish Speaker
-Current AHA-approved CPR card
Skills:
-Skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic and reasoning, judgment, time management techniques and data entry;
-Ability to make improvements or take corrective action;
-Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources;
-Organize, plan, and prioritize work;
-Communicate with people outside the organization, represent the organization to patients, clients and the public;
-Deal calmly and effectively in high stress situations;
-Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time;
-Work within a team as well as independently;
-Speak, read, and write effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience while demonstrating the proper use of grammar.
