POSITION SUMMARY
The Site General Manager is a hands-on, working manager who spends their day between the factory floor, working with Customer Service, Planning and interfacing with customers to meet the company’s aggressive service vision. They promote consistency among all representative groups and ensure that their facility collaborates according to company policies, maintaining high standards for product quality, responsiveness to customer needs, safety, employee conduct and the willingness to say ‘Yes’.

The Site General Manager will also oversee operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time and to the right quality standards. They are expected to utilize effective leadership tools to plan, organize, staff, control, and direct all operations of the on-site facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all employees at the facility are performing their primary job functions according to company policy and meeting customer needs.

  • Collaborate with home office management to ensure performance, safety, quality standards are maintained and intervene as necessary in severe situations as required. May be asked to act in proxy for the home office management in certain situations to have direct communication with employees.

  • Support, problem solve and backfill with local Customer Service and Planning personnel to find way to meet the company’s service vision.

  • Collaborate with home office Customer Service and Planning management to support local associates to meet corporate deliverables.

  • Recruit, screen, interview, hire and test hourly applicants.

  • Provide orientation to employees in terms of company values and culture to affiliate employees per organizational requirement.

  • Manage employee pool by training, retaining or terminating of same, evaluate performance and counsel employees to improve performance.

  • Manage daily on-site operations such as headcount, check-ins of employees to ensure staff’s availability during working hours and provide weekly time reporting.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with management and supervisors to resolve employee issues, concerns and grievances per existing company policy.

  • Be the primary contact and responsible for site specific issues including, but not limited to facility maintenance, utilities, working with Landlord, and supplies.

  • As necessary, make changes to production schedules to accommodate special customer requests.

  • Handle emergency situations that may require management decisions to be made without notification of group management beforehand and provide appropriate communication follow-up afterward.

  • Any other assigned tasks or responsibilities asked by management to ensure the site meets Hose Master Quality Objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

  • Associate’s Degree or demonstrated equivalent through work experience.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, strong technical ability, manufacturing experience preferred (Welding, Production Equipment, Assembly, Auxiliary and or shipping/receiving operations).

Skills:

  • Intermediate to advance computer software skills (e.g. Microsoft Office).

  • Effective communication, influencing skills, and decision making ability.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Walk up to a ¼ mile at a time.

  • Bend, squat, reaches as needed.

  • Have good vision/corrected to 20-20.

  • Good Hearing and finger dexterity.

  • Must understand and speak English.
