Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving Tasks & Duties (What You'll Do)

Supervise and coordinate activities of employees engaged in shipping and receiving of products and in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipments. Oversees incoming and outgoing to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.

• Examines contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.

Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials.

• Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
• Record shipment data, such weight charges, space availability and damages and discrepancies, for reporting accounting and record keeping purposes.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma

Knowledge Requirements:

English language proficient, reading comprehension, time management, able to communicate effectively in writing, able to use mathematics to solve problems.

Experience: A combination of over one year of directly related training and /or experience is required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, Travel Requirements:

• Able to operate forklift, scissor lift, hand truck, and vehicles/ trailers.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to communicate technical information and instruction to a variety of people
• Ability to conduct math such as addition/subtraction to a a variety of people.
• ability to read and interpret electrical code
• Ability to solve complicated problems involving various factors and influences.

Day shift:

Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm
