We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to assist the Store Leader in leading operations and Team Members of the store. This role works closely with the Store Leader to learn and reinforce the daily operational procedures and performance expectations of a Pet Supplies Plus store. The Shift Supervisor serves with leadership coverage when the Store Leader is not onsite, while acting as a senior level Team Member when the Store Leader is onsite.

Our store is locally owned and operated by King Hammy ll LLC, named after our family's Husky/Shepherd furry best friend. We also have a location in Missouri City, TX. A strong performer in this role will have the potential to advance into bigger roles with our company.

In addition to the hourly compensation, our Shift Supervisors will have the opportunity to earn up to a 10% performance bonus each quarter (every 3 months).

Responsibilities

• Partnering with store team leaders to learn and reinforce the PSP standards and daily management routines that make your store the favorite pet store in the neighborhood
• Providing leadership coverage and covers management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite
• Adhering to operational policies and procedures (cleanliness, animal care, safety and security) that ensure exceptional service is provided to our neighbors
• Learning and performing back office procedures – like making signs, updating price changes, and imputing cashier records – to comply with standards and expectations
• Involvement in store recruiting, onboarding and team member development
• Communicating opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to the team leaders
• Act as store team members when they’re not acting as the manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks.

• A passion for pets and an understanding of what they mean to their families
• Ability to build a positive relationship with our neighbors and their pets
• Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others
• 1+ years of retail experience with interest in leadership roles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple tasks
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds (that cat litter can be heavy!)
• Ability to work flexible schedules, have reliable transportation and be 18 years or older.

Salary: $13.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

• Retail Store: 1 year (Preferred)
