Shift Manager (Plastic Extrusions)

$500 Sign-on bonus

2nd shift - Full-Time, Hourly position

In the Shift Manager position, you’ll be managing all personnel on the Afternoon shift which consists of roughly 40 - 45 employees. You will ensure product is produced to meet customer shipping requirements. You will coach new employees and ensure their proper training.

What this work looks like:

• Oversee all production personnel on the assigned shift.
• Inform and instruct all production personnel of their individual duties.
• Maintain a timely and continuous production flow.
• Oversee new employee orientation.
• Ensure that all operating, IATF 16949 quality, ISO 1401 environmental, and safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain the time and attendance database for assigned shift.
• Understand and ensure compliance to the requirements and guidelines that are established in the Company Handbook.
• Assist in line set-up, when necessary.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems. Reviews non-conforming product and implements corrective actions. Participates with problem solving and on-going kaizen events/continuous improvement efforts within all areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for production, shipping and receiving of goods, by meeting specified quality and quantity requirements in the most efficient manner possible. Tracks performance to these requirements and initiatives actions to insure they are best or exceeded.
• Proper handling and reporting of scrap and recycle material.
• Proper spill clean up procedures.

Skills needed to win:

• Positive and professional attitude

• Blueprint reading
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and data base programs
• Advanced organizational skills
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
• Operation of industrial trucks, aerial lifts, overhead cranes
• Available to work weekends and overtime as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 or more years of supervisory skills
