Shelter Manager
Qualifications: Vet Tech experience desired, work related experience,
Must be able to draw blood from Animal
Fiscal Responsibilities
1. Assist with budget development
2. Recommend and implement approved cost saving measures
3. Oversee purchase of shelter supplies and inventories to include needed medical and cleaning supplies.
Animal Care Supervision
1. Ensure animal related computer records and entries are accurate and entered on a daily basis.
2. Administer vaccines, assess sick animals blood draws, perform lab tests, apply bandages and splints, check teeth health, and chart all pertinent medical information.
3. Sign off on euthanasia and other sensitive decisions.
Community, Volunteer and Customer Relations
1. Ensure customer service standards are set and updated
2. Maintain clear roles and division of responsibilities between staff and volunteers
3 Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure a positive working relationship between volunteers and staff
4. Work with Foster, Adoption, Volunteer and Humane Educator coordinators to ensure programs are carried out.
Operations
1. Perform daily inspection of shelter facilities to monitor the general health of animals
2 Ensure that medical care is rendered in a timely, humane manner
3. Oversee Building and Grounds maintenance
4. Manage daily logs of admissions and adoptions.
5. Compile monthly documentation required by the board and report to board at monthly meetings.
6. Manage adoption fees.
7. Ensure appropriate social media sites are updated
8. Recommend and implement approved cost saving measures
9. Develop and implement a comprehensive public relations program
10. Interpret ordinances, state statutes, regulations and county policies to the general public and staff
11. Hold workers responsible for daily inspection sheets
12. Complete a quarterly newsletter
13. Open mail in a timely manner
14. Overall supervision of workplace environment
15. Greet the public

18. Review and update policies and procedures with board approval
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
