Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Senior Windows System Administrator position on the DOL ITOM program. The person in this role will be responsible for providing IT administration in a windows server environment and have deep understanding of the server internals and knowledge of desktop operating systems.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure and maintain Windows Server environments for multiple customers.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- Provide escalated technical support and troubleshoot complex server and network issues.
- Handle Windows Server changes, including patch management, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Use Powershell to automate identified repetitive activities and to analyze and interpret data.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure their systems are secure, up-to-date and fully compliant.
- Collaborate with the team to improve system performance, security and ensure SLA uptime.
- Create documentation of IT systems and services.
- Manage and maintain Citrix / XenApp implementation.
- Work with multiple other teams on complex projects to deliver timely and successful solutions for the customer.
- Work with teammates to ensure ticket queue coverage and SLA requirements are met.
- Management of Microsoft Azure Intune, Defender for Endpoint
- Run Operations and Maintenance tasks for various Windows services.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10-12 years related work experience, Master’s degree with 6-8 years related work experience or high school diploma or equivalent with 14+ years related work experience.
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Previous experience as a Windows Server Administrator.
- Strong Powershell experience; uses Powershell to solve problems.
- Strong Windows administration skills, including Active Directory and Group Policy management.
- Previous experience holding a similar role as a Senior Microsoft Windows Server Administrator in a diverse environment with multiple customers and competing priorities.
- Deep understanding of Windows Server roles, including: DNS, DHCP, File, Print, DC, etc.
Ability to work independently and remotely, while being reliable and accountable. - Availability to provide on-call support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience and use of Powershell to solve problems: automation; monitoring; reporting; user management; migrations; certificate generation; etc.
- Previous experience with Citrix/XenApp administration/management.
- Previous experience as an Enterprise Administrator.
- Previous expeirence supporting SCCM, SCOM or other Windows Server management tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of network protocols, routing, firewall concepts, and VPN technologies.
- Previous experience with implementation of DHCP/DNS systems in IPv6 environments.
- Previous experience in managing cloud services such as Azure, AWS, and Office 365 is ideal.
- Familiarity with VMware and Hyper-V.
- Technical certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, AWS or Azur.
