Job description
As a Senior Network Engineer for a local Managed Services Provider (MSP), you are responsible for all aspects of IT installation and support of our small and medium sized business customers. This includes but is not limited to:
- Install, support, configure, maintain, and monitor software, servers, storage, and virtualization systems in a Microsoft network environment.
- Diagnose, configure and resolve complex network issues involving firewalls, switches and wireless hardware including troubleshooting of network connectivity.
- Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and document system reported issues.
- Lead high priority tickets involving servers with data restoration, hardware repairs, disaster recovery, or other critical requests escalated for Senior IT Support assistance.
- Escalate and troubleshoot advanced issues involving third-party software vendors as needed for proper resolution.
- Act as an escalation point to other Support Technicians to train or resolve complex issues.

You will evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, and perform problem isolation and resolution; and monitor, tune, set standards and maintain a range of computer network components and systems.

Must Have 8 Plus Years’ Experience:
- In an IT engineer role
- Hands-on experience with hardware/software
- Microsoft Systems Engineering
- Working with server and workstation hardware configurations
- Solid understanding of networking, switching, routers, and firewall technologies
Desired Education:
- AS or BS in Computer Science or related field
Desired Certifications:
- CompTIA A+, Network +, or Security +
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Relevant Work Experience/Ideal Candidate will have:
- Planning, troubleshooting, network maintenance, performance analysis, and report generation
- Planning and implementing systems upgrades, hardware, software, OS, and applications
- Experience implementing disaster recovery solutions for Windows based workstations, services, & servers
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues in order to ensure maximum up-time of windows servers and windows desktops
- Experience with Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
- Experience configuring and administering mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android)
- Experience in configuring and maintaining Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 Server Environments
- Experience in configuring and maintaining Exchange Server 2016/2019/2022 and Exchange Online
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7)
- Experience in configuring and supporting SharePoint Online
- Experience with Virtualization – VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Experience in Microsoft Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 Active Directory & Group Polices
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to generate and interpret documents for operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Experience in providing high-level technical support (level 2, level 3, and above)
