This is a Chicago-based, hybrid position that will require on average two days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Specialist of Communications Strategy and Planning will support the strategy and planning team in developing integrated communications strategies and plans to further United's reputation with key audiences. This role will also support the overall strategy for executive communications.
- Assist in developing creative, thoughtful and impactful proactive communications activities to build United’s reputation
- Work with other members of the team on cross functional plans and initiatives
- Maintain planning calendars and plans for overall planning team and Executive Communications
- Support in division wide projects to ensure planning and outputs are delivered on time
- Assist with creating communications materials for executives including the CEO for speaking events, field visits and interviews
- Writing, editing speeches letters, scripts, memos and other communications for key executives

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English or a related field
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience in project management and developing communications strategy across organizations
- Must be a creative thinker and have project management experience, and be able to collaborate with all areas of the company
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
