Summary of This Role

Global Payments is searching for a passionate Senior Software Engineer in their Payments team, who will assist with the design and development of various payments technologies within the product.

Responsibilities:

• Be a part of the breakthrough and innovation for solving real-world software problems in the payments industry, while identifying and defining key technologies for software development
• Design and develop software for complex projects as a contributor and specialist for your designated scrum team
• Write well-designed, high-quality code that is testable and scalable, following modern software development methodologies
• Work closely with external partners, integrating with their APIs to enhance customer value
• Collaborate with other teams to accomplish technical and product development goals
• Bring enthusiasm to the team, participate in design discussions and propose innovative ideas and solutions
• Work closely and effectively in cross-functional scrum teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• Five + years of experience with Java and related technologies
• Solid understanding of design patterns, object-oriented design and architectural principles
• Experience developing web based concurrent, scalable applications
• Broad familiarity with open source technologies in a java ecosystem
• Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
• Experience building and maintaining a multi-tenant SaaS environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Nice to Have:

• Working knowledge of cryptography and management of cryptographic data
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud services
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and microservices architectures
• Understanding of financial systems, specifically around payments and invoice automation technologies
