Job Description
HII supports the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) and U.S Marine Corps (USMC) program for Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Networking-On-The-Move (NOTM). Under our contract, C4ISR NOTM systems are enhanced to keep pace with advancing technology; reduce size, weight, and power; and transition satellite communications (SATCOM) to a Department of Defense-governed band.
We are seeking a senior-level Satellite Communication (SATCOM) Engineer for a full-time remote position to support and advance NOTM SATCOM requirements. The selectee will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) planning and operations support, remotely or onsite, for commercial and military SATCOM in Contiguous United States (U.S.) (CONUS) and Outside of CONUS (OCONUS) locations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Support NIWC PAC on wideband C4ISR SATCOM planning and operations in CONUS and OCONUS.
- Provide SME support on interfacing with Space Force Regional Satellite Support Centers commercial and military SATCOM bandwidth for Network Centric Waveform (NCW) and future waveform planning.
- Provide onsite SME support on NCW network setup, commission, and troubleshooting covering Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) Area Of Responsibility.
- Provide USMC C4ISR expertise for current and future operations as a SME interface to U.S. Pacific Fleet; U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific; III Marine Expeditionary Force; 3rd Marine Division; 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment; and other AOR Marine Units as necessary.
- Provide mentorship and assistance on SATCOM communication design and planning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology and Management.
- 10+ years of experience with Military and Commercial SATCOM in USMC environments.
- INDOPACOM AOR planning and operations experience.
- Clearance: Active SECRET clearance.
Preferred Requirements
- SME with USMC Tactical communications including Commercial and Military SATCOM, and terrestrial wireless infrastructure.
- SME on mission development using Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP), Operational Plans (OPLAN), and Task Order (TASKORD) development supporting INDOPACOM and other AOR operations.
- SME on engineering wideband SATCOM with Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Enhanced Bandwidth Efficient Modem (EBEM), LinkWay, iDirect, and NCW waveforms.
- SME on planning and designing Narrowband SATCOM including Integrated Waveform with Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) and Mobile User Objective System (MUOS).
- SME on Wide Area Network (WAN) engineering and integrating Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) services and USMC SATCOM gateway/teleports.
