Senior Process Development Scientist


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Process Development Scientist, are to:


  • Execute and lead technical programs/processes in a specific area to implement new applications or technological advancements for the division's products.
  • Act as a consultant to manufacturing and packaging personnel by assisting in their planning process, reviewing possible solutions, and presenting recommendations for actions.
  • Advise site management group on technological advancements and the potential impact such scientific / technical developments would have on processes and procedures.
  • Establish technical information exchanges with Research and Development and Divisional staff to define and identify technical resources for Myerstown.
  • Assume a leadership role in professional and industry associations by chairing committees, advising on journal publications, and acting as a technical consultant demonstrating technical expertise and professional credibility.
  • Provide leadership and direction to other Process Technology staff on an as-needed basis.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • An excellent understanding of the unit operations associated with the manufacture of solid and liquid pharmaceutical dosage forms.
  • Experience with statistical process control.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the scientific aspects of company's activities and apply that knowledge to the company's goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain and recommend to all levels of personnel the results of projects.
  • The flexibility to work in a team-oriented or independent environment depending on project needs.
  • Demonstrated competencies: problem solving, practical judgment, initiative/assertiveness, job knowledge, leadership, planning/organizing, attention to detail, sense of urgency/timing, creativity/innovation, and strong written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
:

  • BS with 10 years of progressive technical/scientific experience; or M.S. with 8 years of progressive technical/scientific experience; or Ph.D. with 6 years of progressive technical/scientific experience.
  • Experience of digital systems e.g., SAP, SCADA, MES, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software and statistical analysis.
