Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to serve our Compounding Pharmacy in Louisville, KY. This leader will be hands-on in a start-up environment being directly responsible for the safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience performance of a compounding pharmacy. This role will build and maintain relationships with hourly associates, managers, carrier partners, vendors, other Pharmacy Teams and various departments in the company. This individual will be someone who likes dealing with ambiguity, change, and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements every single day.

What you'll do:

  • Ensures proper procedures are taken for receiving customer orders, creating/dispensing compound medications in compliance with industry standards; collaborating with peers
  • Own the operational planning for the compounding lab including labor utilization, capacity and order SLA
  • Lead and supervise a team of Operation Managers, Area Managers, and Pharmacy/Compounding Technicians
  • Develop and administer operational procedures for executing activities for incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of products, and keeping the highest standards of inventory accuracy
  • Develop and maintain a safe work environment
  • Responsible for achieving all operational goals
  • Drive strategic planning and forecasting
  • Mentor, train and develop leaders or career progression and learning
  • Create a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees in the Compounding Lab to provide feedback and drive change within the facility, adapt to the ever-changing business, and stay focused on the customer experience
  • Drive continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the Fulfillment Center
  • Utilize the site Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize order fulfillment and provide operational insights to improve WMS effectiveness
  • Must compound and dispense medications using a variety of tools including compounding devices, capsule machines, related software and standard laboratory equipment, as needed
  • Follow and ensure all safety and USP guidelines for preparation of compounded medications.
  • Ensure work area is properly prepared to minimize unintended exposure to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • At least 4 years of management experience in, Pharmacy, Receiving, Inventory Control, and/or Order Fulfillment or a similar role
  • Experience with building or improving inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processes
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement skills
  • Metrics driven mindset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Current Kentucky Technician license in good standing
  • Compounding and/or laboratory experience required
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment including compounding devices (grinders, mixers and homogenizers), capsule machines (including pill counters, tampers), software and standard laboratory equipment (including sterilizers, measuring tools, etc.).
  • Customer service obsession, with willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy customer needs
  • Effective communicator and leader for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams and executive leadership
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data
  • Highest levels of integrity and ethics
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and/or night shift as needed
  • Position may require travel

What Separates you From the Pack:

  • Certification or experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt.
  • Previous experience using SQL or Tableau
