This is an exciting opportunity to join Octo and help develop and expand Octo’s AI solution offerings. In this role you will work closely with business line stakeholders and customers to help design, innovate and build our next generation AI and ML solutions and offerings focused on the defense and intelligence ecosystems. In this role you will drive the creation of innovative, mission relevant, AI products from ideation, through MVP, pilot, and production. You will help solve real world problems and challenges faced by military personnel, analysts, medical researchers, IRS agents, and other federal customers. You will directly support Octo’s CTO office and oLabs. You will also serve as an engineering architect and subject matter expert to help shape customer-specific AI related solutions.

Every sensor, data source, problem, question, and mission require intimate understanding of the operational environment, deep technical expertise, and empathy at every step in the technology development process.

What we'd like to see...

• Minimum 7 years of developing data pipelines (ETL), data preparation, model training, and deployment of models for inference
• Practical understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++
• Proficiency in linear algebra operations, computer vision, and image processing
• Proficiency in working with linux-based systems
• Experience developing object detection models, multi-object tracking, and re-identification of uniquely tracked objects
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as pytorch, tensorflow, ONNX, and TensorRT
• Experience implementing hardware accelerated computing and leveraging software libraries to optimize model efficiency
• Knowledge of computer networking and networking configuration
• Experience deploying software to Low-SWaP compute devices
• Experience leveraging HPC systems to solve compute intensive tasks

Desired Skills:

• TS/SCI Clearance
• Proven experience building AI or data science applications for the US government
• Proven experience building AI or data science applications for close combat applications
• Able to clearly communicate and provide positive recommendation of improvements to existing software applications
• Experience with building AI enabled C2 and analysis products for SOF or IC customers.
• Experience with tactical networks (example: MANET, LTE, or Integrated Tactical Network).

Years of Experience: 7 years of experience or more

Education: Master’s Degree or Post Graduate Certificate in AI, ML, Data Science, Data Analytics, or related field

Clearance: Ability to obtain DoD TS Clearance
