Our Sales team works closely with travel agencies, United travel departments, corporate clients and more to provide phenomenal customer solutions that lead to fruitful business relationships. And through valued customer feedback, optimized partnerships, and innovative sales strategies, Sales continues to be the largest revenue-generating department at United.
This role collaborates with Worldwide Sales leadership to develop plans and to implement sales initiatives. Produces and implements division operating budget, and manages standards and compliance. Acts as divisional liaison between Sales and other key stakeholders such as Finance, Accounting, Corporate & Community Affairs, Ethics & Compliance, HR, Corporate Real Estate, IT, Legal, Auditing, and Marketing. Leads and manages various workstreams across the Sales Division, working with complex and high-visibility projects.
Job Overview & Job Responsibilities:
1.) Collaborate with Finance to produce and implement Worldwide Sales operating budget including forecasts, accruals, reclass entries, payments, reporting, variance & scenario analysis.
- Consultative to Sales leadership on expense performance, resource reallocations and cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare and deliver recurring reviews with Finance and Sales senior leadership
- Primary divisional liaison between Sales and other departments, working with cross-divisional collaborators to provide impact analysis to secure required resources
2.) Manage projects as assigned by Sales senior leadership. Serve as divisional liaison between Sales and other departments, working with cross-divisional collaborators to find opportunities for change in policy & procedures and efficiency. Provide impact analysis. Prioritize and lead efforts to influence and implement change.
3.) Manage and coach team to deliver multiple Sales support functions:
- Sales Contract Administration: Assist in drafting new corporate agreement legal documents in response to new Sales products or initiatives, Liaison with Legal to review, edit and propose legal modifications to all corporate agreement documents in response to customer concerns and Facilitate the implementation of agreements with Partners, Sponsors, and Vendors.
- Manage standards and compliance to ensure strength and thoroughness of audit preparations and procedures: Implement annual Sales Tool Certification, Oversee Travel Certificate issuance through training, and subject matter expertise, GCE liaison for WW Sales, manage all non-profit and government vetting requests, Payment processing and reconciliation of VP Pcard charges.
- Sales Sponsorship facilitation: Review, draft, and process all U.S. Sponsorship and Event agreements, Design and deploy improved and automated process for implementation, tracking, and fulfillment of Domestic Sponsorships, Track earnings, approvals and payments using the COOP Workbook/Dashboard Management.
- Traveler Amenities Operations: Provide operational fulfillment of Sales tools & amenities, often partnering with other divisions across United on processes to drive sales effectiveness, Implement effective processes to support ongoing selling responsibilities of amenities and Provide functional leadership to IKC partners to ensure continuity and first-rate TASM support of the Sales teams and customers.
Note: This position will require approximately 15% travel and provides a hybrid work arrangement including days worked onsite at our Chicago office and remote.

- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- 7 years airline management experience
- Foundational knowledge of budget management, resource management, and project management
- Confident, self-starter individual who can "own" the delivery of high-value work products
- Ability to think strategically as well as tactically and to exercise sound judgment in problem-solving and priority/goal setting
- Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests
- Ability to build trust and cross-boundaries with multiple internal organizations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship
