Senior Manager –Engineering
Client is a global oil and gas manufacturing company that has been in business for over 100 years. They specialize in engineering within the upstream, marine, power generation, and on-highway equipment.
- Placement Type: Direct Hire
- Pay: Approximately $150,000-175,000
- Hybrid Schedule: Two days remote Three days in office
- Location: Northwest Houston
- Travel:15%
Essential Job Functions
- Organizes engineering staff to accomplish goals efficiently and authorizes recruitment of additional personnel as required.
- Prepares budget and schedules for the development of product lines. Maintains system of budget and schedule control.
- Plans and directs the work of the highly skilled engineering staff, placing particular emphasis on research and development to achieve product engineering objectives.
- Confers with marketing department to consider market potential for new products.
- Develops new/existing products from the beginning concept to testing and full production.
- Prepares Research and Development requests and justifications.
- Monitors progress of projects, confers with project engineers, and reviews reports to see that development is progressing according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines.
- Reports to Director of Engineering on a regular basis. Works closely with that officer and the general manager of manufacturing to establish long-range operating goals and expansion.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Solid Works, Oracle, MS Office, AutoCAD, Auto Desk, and Inventor
- Responsible for care of a broad variety of materials and experimental products.
- Responsible for care of standard office equipment and a variety of shop and test equipment.
- Considerable damage or loss is possible but can be prevented by using a high degree of care and attention.
- Contacts with persons inside or outside the company where matters discussed require resourcefulness, tact, and a working knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures.
- High School Diploma or General Education (GED) and three to seven years related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and in increasingly complex supervisory positions required.
- Master’s degree in engineering or business administration preferred.
