Workiva is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our talented Database Administration/Engineering team. In this role, you'll have an opportunity to lead a Senior Database Administrator and shape the future of our organization. As our Senior Manager, you'll bring expertise in AWS and MySQL and oversee our team as we spearhead several high-profile projects. Your contributions will be essential in enhancing the observability, reliability, and security of our production database instances.
What You'll Do

Lead the team responsible for administering Workiva's production database instances and drive successful project delivery. This includes full people management responsibility including hiring, exiting, annual performance and pay reviews; continue to share expertise across teams.

Develop and execute high-profile projects to improve observability, reliability, and security of our production database instances.

Support enterprise-wide database systems and manage the delivery of mission-critical database services.

Design and implement disaster recovery, data replication, and database backup procedures.

Foster a positive work environment and provide mentorship and guidance to the team.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive seamless execution of projects and achieve company objectives.

Provide database expertise to engineering teams to support Workiva's reliability and scalability goals.

Develop and deliver automation to support self-service capabilities by Workiva's engineering teams.
What You’ll Need
-
Typically, Bachelor’s degree with 8 years related experience, or Master’s degree with minimum of 6 years related experience, or PhD with 4 years related experience

3+ years direct people management experience preferred, including supervisory experience of entry-level managers and/or established individual contributors

Strong proficiency in AWS and MySQL technologies

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
