Overview:
This position is responsible for creating and packaging content on key topics for LLS’s Executive Vice President & COO and Sr. Vice President & Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer. Occasionally, will support other senior leaders of the COO’s team. This role is responsible for timely and relevant thought leadership, messaging, and other communications, such as regular executive (C-suite+) communication (written and verbal), external and internal messaging and remarks, that position LLS as a thought leader, innovator, social impact organization, and strategic partner in health and science. Enabling us to respond to industry developments in a timely and comprehensive manner and contribute to the organizations successful positioning and developing unique and original content for LLS owned channels, social media, and earned media including op-eds and bi-lined articles. The position will deliver content in various formats and for multiple audiences; the ability to meet our different audiences' needs and effectively communicate to them is a must.

Additional Position Information: Reports to:Senior Director, External Constituent CommunicationsSupervises:N/A Responsibilities:
  • Strategically develops, drives and manages all aspects of the content and communications to position LLS as a thought leader, innovator, social impact organization, and strategic partner in health and science in the industry and align content with strategic plan — from concept to creation and delivery
  • Engages with LLS executives in support of the development of the external thought leadership content strategy and internal communications needs (written and verbal), including remarks
  • Amplifies executive platform themes with LLS owned channels, executive social media, and earned media including op-eds and bi-lined articles, targeted interviews and roundtables
  • Creates key messages presentations and/or content for executive presentations (collaborates with Constituent Experience team on design)
  • Collaborates with Constituent Experiences team to evaluate developed content (new and current) for new distribution channels, and more to help LLS’s thought leadership stand out from the rest.
  • Follows and understand industry trends and social trends, and how LLS aligns to relevant themes
  • Creates and execute an editorial calendar integrated with the events and executive communication themes. Tracks content engagement and demonstrate the value of thought leadership.
  • Manages external partners to support thought leadership communications
  • Contributes to the support of the marketing and communications strategy to help inform integrated approach across all media channels; including digital

Qualifications:
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • 6 – 9 years related marketing experience in healthcare, preferably healthcare non-profit, industry
  • 6 – 9 years (public relations, writing, event production or related fields)
  • Bachelor’s degree. Field of study: Communications, English Language and Literature
Position Requirements:
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to cultivate thought leadership on behalf of a major organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to protect and promote major brands.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. media markets-general, philanthropic and health and science sectors
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills, and experience guiding and advising executive leadership on communications
  • Outstanding oral communications skills
  • Experience with thought leadership with a major national or international nonprofit organization, or healthcare cause driven preferred

  • Average salary range $85k - $105k. Open to further discussion based on geography.
