Reporting to the Vice President – Residential and Light Commercial Engineering, with a dotted line to the Director - Residential Marketing, the Senior/Lead HVAC Systems Marketing Liaison Engineer will be responsible for utilizing HVAC system modeling along with a detailed understanding of compressor technology and customer system portfolios to identify and assess value opportunities of compression technologies for the $1.5B Residential and Light Commercial AC business.
As Senior/Lead Engineer - HVAC Systems & Marketing Liaison, You Will:
- Work closely with Product Development and Advanced Technology teams to maintain a strong technical comprehension of current and future compression products, technology levers, and technology roadmaps in support of modeling and value assessment activity.
- Learn and utilize HVAC system modeling tools, working closely with the Technical Services and Solutions group, to guide the engineering and marketing teams in understanding the value of current and emerging compression technologies.
- Understand residential compressor and HVAC system rating standards and regulatory requirements in support of modeling and value assessment activity.
- Be an expert on how different HVAC system components affect overall HVAC product/system performance, design, reliability, and cost.
- Create compressor performance coefficients that can be evaluated in HVAC system models to understand the potential value of existing and future compression solutions and technology levers.
- Conduct sensitivity studies between various combinations of compressor performance coefficients, various system types (heating cooling, reversible), various compression types (fixed, two stage, variable speed, tandems, etc.), and other key system variables to identify areas of current and future value creation that can guide product development and advanced technology activities and roadmaps.
- Engage and collaborate closely with customers, particularly those in engineering who are evaluating compression technology in order to rationalize value assumptions and obtain feedback on applicability of future technologies.

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- 5+ years relevant experience, at least 3 years in an engineering role
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply creative thinking
- Strong technical aptitude, curiosity, and critical thinking
- Passionate, quick learner across a variety of domains from technical to market
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA
- HVAC industry awareness/experience
- Residential North American HVAC OEM system design knowledge
- HVAC system modeling experience
- Strong technical aptitude, curiosity, and critical thinking
- Experience manipulating/synthesizing large amounts of data (multiple inputs and outputs) in an efficient manner using tools such as Excel and/or Data Analysis software such as Tableau, Domo, Power BI, etc.
- Experience generating compressor performance coefficients
- Experience in communicating with customers about highly technical products
- Experience in BTB marketing of highly technical products
