Job Purpose

The Senior Surveyor works alongside the Supervisor/Manager in the Survey Department to perform project management and coordination of the survey projects. Help manage and coordinate the 7-million-dollar in MSA contracts. Work with the MSA vendors to oversee boundary, topographic and construction stakeout surveys on behalf of National Grid.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the acquisition of high value land for operational purposes to ensure projects are achieved to time and cost.
  • Responsible for the resolution of high-value loss of development claims associated with National Grid assets.
  • Represent National Grid at external meetings with major stakeholders and lead negotiations with institutional landowners and representative organizations.
  • Provide expert advice to National Grid in respect of operational property issues and act as lead contact with National Grid Property.
  • Set land and development policies and rolling out to the business, relating to the acquisition of land and land rights, property and legal challenges in relation to the protection and installation of National Grid assets.
  • Undertake accountability to ensure expenditure meets capital provision on easements for electricity assets.
  • Review project scopes with clients.
  • Create and manage RFP's.
  • Create and award bid events to MSA vendors for Survey Projects.
  • Review survey deliverables and maintain project schedules.
  • Coordinate with Multiply MSA Vendors.
  • Help to update and maintain Company Standards.
  • Coordinate office and field work.
  • Advise Clients on Survey needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or 5-7 years’ experience in the surveying profession.
  • Working knowledge of Survey Processes, standards, best practices, and deliverables, both field and office.
  • The Ability to use AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting for survey companies.
  • Ability to work with and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to coordinate multiply projects and changing priorities.
  • Ability to use Microsoft office app.

Salary: $88,000 - $103,000
