Job Summary:
This position will oversee all HR duties for all California locations and employees including any future growth locations. Currently we have two locations, the Inglewood location and a retail only location in San Diego.
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Responsible for establishing internal strategies, policies, procedures and programs to prevent violations of state and federal laws and regulations.
· Compliance monitoring, providing day-to-day compliance advice relating to core HR activities and operations, including, but not limited to, incentive or variable compensation, hourly and employee regulations, and HR guidance associated with regulatory rules/laws for internal policies.
· Design, develop, and maintain compliance programs including compliance monitoring and reporting activities.
· Oversee monitoring and identification of regulatory developments, including new laws and regulations, interpretations on new laws and their requirements and modifying internal procedures based on the new requirements.
· Analyzing the impact of new employment law, including cross-boarder impact
· Manage strategy and responses to regulatory examinations and reviews
· Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
· Provides clerical support to the HR department.
· May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
· Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
· Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
