The Senior Gift Planning Associate applies their skills to support Gift Planning Fundraising and the Gift Planning Manager. They are highly organized, flexible, and able to prioritize workload and assignments as the position requires working as part of a team.

The Senior Gift Planning Associate works towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by developing and implementing tactics for approved plans, and completing and organizing multiple tasks and activities. They identify individual priorities based on the needs of the program. They are responsible for various activities that contribute to the implementation of a comprehensive program to secure and record significant financial resources from individuals primarily through bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, and donor advised funds. They draft routine and complex correspondence and acknowledgements, assist in timely asset transfers, perform financial calculations and craft corresponding reports for donors, and process and record planned gifts using the available customer relationship management (CRM) database. They are able to discuss charitable gifts funded with cash and securities proficiently and have substantial contact with staff, donors, and legal/financial professionals. They assist with writing proposals and maintain an advanced level of expertise with the CRM database to update donor information, coordinate donor interactions, perform analysis research and track prospects and donors, assist in cultivating and soliciting donors. They may cultivate and solicit donors independently, including inquiries generated by the Loyal Donor Program and international inquiries and gifts. They assist the Gift Planning Manager with managing the operations of the biannual Bequest Call program, onboarding new staff, and updating overall team procedures. They serve as an additional departmental representative for the Gift Planning Associates in conjunction with the Gift Planning Manager and as a resource to other staff. The Senior Associate understands and complies with all TNC gift-related policies and procedures and ensures ethical compliance. They manage gift processing overflow and support the Gift Planning Associate team with git work during times of high volume. They assist in training and updating of business processes in order to improve effectiveness as needed. They perform other duties to enhance the work of the team, as needed, such duties may include, but are not limited to, a more significant role in training, developing documentation, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Experience generating reports and analysing and interpreting data.
  • Experience working and communicating across departments and with a wide range of people.
  • Experience with current technology in relevant field, including databases.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of relevant field.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (not required)

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated.
  • Experience analyzing information for the purpose of preparing reports, coordinating efforts and solving problems.
  • Experience applying research skills for cultivating and/or soliciting donors.
  • Experience implementing complex processes.
  • Experience using existing technology to achieve desired results.
  • Experience writing and editing written materials for use with donor solicitations, member communications, and special events.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of planned gifts.
  • Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate staff.
  • Experience coordinating projects.
  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.
  • Experience with database management, including managing and tracking data.
  • Knowledge of current trends in fundraising, specifically planned giving.
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Successful experience implementing strategic program goals.
