ROLE DESCRIPTION

Efficiently and properly inventory and maintain vault room, and supply paint, glue and other solvents according to established formulas and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tend and operate extrusion machines in a work cell to produce required parts as determined by customer requirements and the production schedule.
• Train and track employee progress/knowledge thru a cross training matrix.
• Train and mentor other employees as needed per SQDC
• Analyze production data and make necessary adjustments to the operation of extrusion related equipment.
• Move materials in and out of the line as needed; including packaging materials, raw materials and finished product.
• Complete necessary documentation; process checks, quality checks, production reporting, etc.
• Create labels and wrap loads per standard work.
• Evaluate part conformance against documented product requirements and stack profiles on load.
• Lead the set-up and start-up of multiple profiles in a work cell.
• Troubleshoot standard problems against a defined process and refer complex problems to the appropriate resources.
• Tear down and clean up any profiles.
• Work within Standard work, JBA’s, control plans, work instructions and quality specifications. Work with support staff on keeping standard work documents current and relevant to defined output.
• Perform changeovers to defined standards to meet product specifications.
• Understand the safety needs of the process and work within the parameters defined to protect the equipment, facility and coworkers.
• Use measuring tools for managing product quality within defined parameters of the standard work and quality documentation.
• Identify problems and drive CI efforts for common issues with the use of AMS tools and standards. Work with the support staff, management, and maintenance teams to implement corrective actions.
• Rotate as required through multiple jobs and/or cells.
• Knowledge of product, process, and customer’s expectations within the value streams (upstream and downstream of the process).
• Lead Employee Engagement activities – Sr. Operators own the process and understand how to review their metrics and fix problems.
• Support respectful workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• PIT training / fork license required for some tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods.
• Ability to read and understand reports and a requirement to cross train on several operations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills.
• Dependability/punctuality.
