Opportunity Overview
What you'll do:
- Autonomously lead multidisciplinary teams of senior leaders through strategic transformational frameworks in pursuit of discovery and innovation in highly complex cross-divisional and enterprise level efforts.
- Lead the solving of novel complex problems with multiple variables and user groups in cross-divisional and enterprise level efforts.
- Support work teams to achieve clear problem statement definition, define big ideas and capabilities, and pressure-test ideas through design research, test and learn methodologies, and value evaluation.
- Effectively communicate in verbal and written venues to senior level leaders to present strategic opportunities, align to firm strategy/goals/objectives, define business cases, and develop strategic roadmaps that clearly articulate the journey toward an ideal client experience.
- Ability to directly impact decision-making on firm-level strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrate masterful agility in ambiguous and complex circumstances to achieve the desired outcome
- Quickly build trusting relationships. Provide leader-level coaching, performance feedback and guidance to squad members (including senior leaders) and peers in formal and informal relationships.
- Provide day to day people and process leadership, without direct management authority, to a multi-disciplinary team made up of both senior leaders and associates.
- Lead alignment between design, business, and delivery workstreams to integrate business analytics, business capabilities, user and market research into the solutioning process to ensure outcomes delivered appropriately balance user value, business value, and feasibility.
- Exercises strong critical thinking and sound judgment while independently making decisions within their own efforts and providing coaching and oversight to those executing other efforts. In doing so, the senior lead must:
- Evaluate a range of potential capabilities including change management, design thinking, process design, process improvement, and project/program management to achieve the project's desired outcome
- Gather and evaluate necessary perspective to independently make decisions without input from higher levels
- Investigate and resolve escalations with varying and high degrees of complexity and impact
- Identify and mitigate risk
- Successfully oversee and/or directly lead multiple firm level projects concurrently.
- Actively advocate the principles of process improvement, design thinking, data analysis, and change management to a wide variety of audiences to gain the buy-in and understanding needed to drive transformational change across the enterprise.
- Lead the development and/or improvement of experiences that have firm-wide benefits, changing the fundamental way the firm does business with regard to a particular client segment or strategy.
- Identify major detailed project tasks, resources, and coordinate the efforts of internal and external parties necessary to see successful project completion including external consulting firms.
- Identify subject matter experts, business owners, and those skilled in multiple business process disciplines necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of applicable work experience
- 2 years of Design Thinking experience, and direct or indirect people leadership experienced preferred
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, building relationships at all levels of the organization, and effectively tailoring messaging and approach to multiple audiences
- Ability to quickly engage and inspire a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and lead/contribute to multiple large-scale efforts concurrently
- Expertise in systems thinking
- Change agility and comfort operating and flexing in ambiguity
- Experience in DevOps Methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) strongly preferred
- Experience leading large enterprise-wide technology and/or strategic deployments preferred
- IBM EDT Coach Badge strongly preferred, and required within 18 months of hire
- Some travel required
