Senior Electrical Construction Inspector - Philadelphia Airport

JOB DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (Electrical) to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Senior Construction Inspector (Electrical) will monitor and document construction projects, coordinate work, oversee quality, and ensure projects are being built in accordance with the plans, specifications, and applicable electrical codes. The Senior Construction Inspector (Electrical) will work on-site at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and conduct electrical construction inspections of the airport airside electrical systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day construction management/construction inspection operations on-site, including oversight of construction contractor operations.
- Inspect various facets of electrical work on the construction project site
- Verify that quality standards and project deadlines are met.
- Take field measurements and perform calculations
- Prepare relevant inspection reports
- Provide daily status reports to Construction Services Department Manager.
- Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used
- Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, special provisions and applicable electrical codes
- Coordinate with contractors and other stakeholders on progress of work and schedule
- Staff mentoring for electrical inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain client satisfaction.
- Conduct site meetings such as pre-installation meetings with the contractor and client.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- +10 years of related construction electrical experience. Emphasis in electrical inspections, code compliance, etc. desired.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledgeable with building construction practices.
- Experience with electrical inspection, construction, management, and aviation specific experience is a plus.
- Previous Experience with PHL or other Airports (airside construction) and ability to obtain Movement Area Clearances is desired
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- OSHA 10 hour certification or ability to obtain.
- Strong english language skills, written and verbal.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel. Ability to navigate through company internet and intranet based systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and procedures
- Availability to work various shifts, including night shifts, overtime, weekend.
- Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions. Must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks which includes walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $35 - $55 per hour. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
