National Grid is hiring a Senior Data Analyst for its Grid of the Future department located in Northboro, Massachusetts (Hybrid*).

What We Do

Working on the development and implementation of National Grid’s Active Resource Integration (ARI), which is an exciting new way for National Grid to increase visibility, control, and manage of renewable energy connected across the service territory. This role will be serving to support the development of that system and its implementation in Massachusetts.

The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for delivering on the learnings and scaling the program to delivering customer benefits at additional locations throughout the Commonwealth.

(*Although this is a hybrid Massachusetts role, this position requires a few office or site visits weekly.)

What You'll Do

  • Leverage previously established project work and research to scale ARI capabilities
  • Develop process for strategic identification for new installation locations
  • Support integration of ARI into the distribution Control Center equipment and processes for effective DER operation
  • Align with developments with the DER markets and overall Distributed Energy Resource Management (DERMS) technology
  • Develop strategically prioritized plan for implementation of ARI platform products in a logical and efficient manner
  • Develop project schedule and collaborate with internal stakeholders and implementation teams
  • Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.
  • Promote and implement procedural best practice in order to ensure all working practice (and where relevant, health and safety standards) are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively build and maintain internal and external networks in order to penetrate, absorb, and apply best practices.

Interpersonal- Experience Required


  • Able to proactively collaborate amongst team members to achieve business objectives.

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree required with minimum 4+ years' relevant and progressive experience
  • Technical and functional proficiency in SAP preferred
  • Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities
  • Background in utility service business activities and projects preferred
  • Electrical engineering background in utility industry preferred
  • Past experience with DERMS and/or utility scale controls/communications preferred

Salary:$89,000 - $105,000 a year
