Responsibilities

The Content Operations Analyst understands, develops, optimizes, and supports both business and technical needs the enterprise content supply chain at Mayo Clinic. A strong communication and collaboration background and experience with and around the end-to-end content lifecycle (plan, author, review, model, manage, translate, deliver, and support) allows Content Operations to analyze problems and propose development opportunities and alternatives for improvement to the modular structure and interrelationships of enterprise content assets to achieve business objectives, including componentization, efficient content reuse, governance and compliance (e.g., readability, regulatory), shortening time to commercial market, supporting content variants, scaling content development, optimization for personalization at scale, and facilitating omni-channel delivery formats/standards to internal and external end points. Strong knowledge around content practices, Content Management System principles, metamodeling, domain management, and translation are critical to support the end-to-end content supply chain. The Content Operations Analyst directly supports the Content Engineer through analysis and synthesis of business and technical requirements. This role must have a strong understanding of people, process, and technology in order to support the needs of editorial and content creators as well as the needs of the IT and technical delivery channels. Works closely with the Content Engineer to support, and improve content structure and semantics (models), content creation and management, content assembly and delivery, and translation processes based on content strategy, structured-content best practices, input from business requirements, experts, and technical requirements. The content operation analyst interacts with the content engineer, digital production and IT teams to represent content structure, content formats within content repositories, and conversion and transformation of content directed to digital and print targets.


This position is a limited tenure position with an estimated end date of two years from hire.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, information architecture or related field. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a high-profile role overseeing content structure within a large-scale and complex digital and print publishing operation. Demonstrable experience contributing to commercial-ready content aligned to standards-compliant HTML or XML. Proven technical acumen and experience with structured authoring tools, and componentized content management systems. Experience managing with semantic-services, cloud-services and API technology.
Experience providing or managing structural content solutions for diverse content formats, including but not limited to text, video, audio, images, algorithms. Experience with end-to-end publishing workflows and associated systems spanning authoring, content management, content delivery, and end-user content consumption. Experience moving fluidly between analyzing high-level content strategy requirements and detailed hands-on content development and support tasks that improve the content creator experience. Experience with research methodologies, and ability to use data-informed insights by synthesizing business requirements and research. Strong communication skills that help you understand, Influence, and develop the best solution to meet the needs of both the content creators as well as the technical development, management, and support of the content supply chain. You will also need strong communication to build working relationships with coworkers who specialize in different disciplines, to help bridge the gap between business and technology. Experience with managing content and content management systems, optimally experience working in a componentized content management system. Experience supporting content in multiple languages and locales.
Experience with markup languages such as HTML5, XML, and DITA XML, and presentation standards such as CSS and JavaScript.

Additional Qualifications:

Master’s degree in related field. Experience transitioning content creation and publishing operations to a defined structured-authoring standard and experience with DITA. Experience with evidence-based health and wellness content targeting segmented audiences (e.g., consumer, patient, professional). Experience with change management Experience with multi-lingual content operations. Experience with conversational artificial intelligence (AI) agents and applications. Experience with digital, print, and Creative ops tooling (Adobe Creative Cloud). Experience with software development practices, DevOps standards, and agile development practices. Familiarity with software development languages (Java, C#).
Familiarity with scripting languages (JavaScript, Ant, Python, Groovy). Familiarity with health informatics, business analytics, and Electronic Health Records.
