Job Description:
We are currently seeking resumes from highly motivated and well-qualified Civil Engineering professionals to join our team based in our Virginia (VA) office. Candidates should be energetic, self-motivated, and interested in working with a diverse group of professionals in a team atmosphere. The role is to serve as a Senior Commercial and Contract Manager for our contract(s) with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This position is based in VA (home office) although travel is expected.

Duties:
  • Assume responsibility for all commercial management of our current contract with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
  • Supervise a group of commercial and contract managers for Task Orders defined under the Program Scope of Work. Ensures adequate and necessary resources for commercial and contract management.
  • Monitor and manage all contractual correspondence between A/E Team and the Client (letters, notices, memorandums, RFIs).
  • Ensures timely review and approval/reconciliation of Variations. Reviews the cost and time impact of all variations and prepares detailed justification and recommendation for approval to the Client. Verifies the performance securities, bank guarantees, insurances, or warranties submitted by Subconsultants engaged under the Program.
  • Maintains contractual records and documentation, contractual changes, and status report.
  • Provides guidance on contract matters to the Program Manager and Principal/Director.
  • Ensures contract close-up, extension, or renewal. Manages potential claims.
  • Manages Sub-consultancy agreements.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • 20+ years of experience with commercial and project management of infrastructure works.
  • Minimum Education: BSc, BEng, or equivalent advanced degree a plus.
  • Licensing/Certifications: MSc, MEng, or equivalent; P.E. or equivalent with eligibility for a license in the US.
  • A qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialized activity, discipline, or team of relevant size and complexity. Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts. Provides specialist services in support of project requirements. Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialized principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients.
  • Travel is required when necessary, including the potential for overnight stays, up to 3-4 nights a week.
  • Experience with common software for industry
  • Bilingual Spanish-English fluent.
  • Experience with North American infrastructure projects and US and Canadian contract law.

Working Conditions and Environment:
This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally, uses the advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. Working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
