The Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence in the Sales Enablement team . This person will play a supporting role in the evaluation of business development sales performance against targets. In addition, this person will assist in efforts in building Abt's data warehouse, management reporting, and the ongoing development of reporting systems and tools.

This position can be based in any of our offices located in Cambridge, MA, Rockville, MD, Durham, NC, or Atlanta, GA, and is also open to remote candidates.

Core Responsibilities

  • Dashboarding :
    • Works collaboratively with business stakeholders to design and develop easy to use dashboards, and data visualizations for different audiences across the organization, including the Executive Leadership Team.
    • Present dashboards to business stakeholders for feedback.
    • Deploy and train end users as necessary.
  • Reporting :
    • Support the execution of existing reports, providing suggestions for improvements and efficiencies. Develop methodologies to improve data analysis.
    • Support the development of new key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Helping the Sales Enablement team to optimize the structure of its data and providing reports and dashboards.
  • Date Warehouse:
    • Provide support on key deliverables for the build out of a companywide initiative for a data warehouse, including defining key business development metrics for the business glossary.
  • Other:
    • Serve as a Sales Enablement business intelligence advisor, helping assist colleagues on BI tools, including how to build their own dashboards.
    • Train leaders and team members on the use of BI tools.
    • Create and maintain documentation on how users can create basic dashboards.
    • Assist with implementation and review of data quality improvement processes and initiatives.
    • Partner with IT to test new enhancements in Oracle Sales Cloud.

  • Level 4: Bachelor’s Degree + Nine years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Seven years of relevant experience, or PhD + Four years of relevant experience
  • Level 5: Bachelor’s Degree + Twelve years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Ten years of relevant experience, or PhD + Eight years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Business or Data Science is preferable
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in a Business Development related field with BI and reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work both as a team and independently.
  • Strong presence, superior communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent research problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Data visualization skills using tools like Oracle Cloud Analytics, PowerBI, and other Tableau to create powerful analytics and dashboards.
  • Experience with Power Query, and other extract, load and transform tools with superior ability to create structured data from sub-optimal data sources.
  • Technical skills including Excel and strong programming skills with languages like DAX, M, SQL, R and/or Python.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, specifically around reporting needs, a plus.
  • Knowledge of how to structure a data warehouse and provide inputs into a company-wide initiative to build out a data lake is a plus.
  • Knowledge on how to update reports Oracle Business Intelligence a plus.
  • Knowledge of CRM technologies and Oracle platforms a plus.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $80,000 to $140,000 may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.  Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
