Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Final Assembly Inspector 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Launch Vehicle business unit located in Promontory, UT.
Experience and Required Skills
- Must have a work history of overall quality inspection experience with demonstrated knowledge of high reliability workmanship standards with hardware/interfaces typical of the high-tech industry.
- Knowledge of AS9100 (or equivalent) and other related standards.
- Receiving inspection experience
- ESD, FOD and Shelf-Life Control experience.
- Experience with creating Nonconformances within TipQa.
- Hands-on knowledge of inspection methods and techniques
- Experience using Hand Tooling such as Micrometers, Dial Calipers, and Height gage.
- Must be able to read Drawings and have a working understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
- Should have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated issues both technical and procedural.
- Must possess written and oral communications , along with interpersonal skills that aid in achieving both primary and multi-departmental goals.
- Efficient using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience working with TipQa, MES, and CostPoint software is a Plus
- Proficient at planning /organization, and decision-making skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Final Assembly Inspector 2 High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years related experience.
- Final Assembly Inspector 3 High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years related experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Active Secret Security Clearance is required
- Ability to pass a BATFE Background investigation
- Ability to travel 10-15% is required
- Strong written and verbal communications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on knowledge of inspection methods and techniques
- Knowledge and experiences with inspection tools and equipment
- Knowledge of TIPQA, Cost Point, and MES
- Experience with nonconformances procedures.
