Senior Accounts Receivable Collection Analyst

The role
The Senior Accounts Receivable Collection Analyst will be expected to manage a high dollar portfolio, reduce the collection period and maximize AR working capital opportunities by collecting payments against past due invoices, working through disputes, discrepancies, and deductions with an emphasis on deduction management for assigned trade customers which include large distributors and corporate accounts.

This B2B position has the responsibility for the management of the A/R collection and deduction management processes for their assigned portfolio, which may include but is not limited to, past due invoice collection, dispute resolution, and deduction management. Resolving a single payment settlement disconnect typically requires working with internal and external customers. Collaboration with these customers/functions is often required for timely notification and resolution of items in dispute (invoices, deductions, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collection of past due invoices and research and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies to ensure working capital objectives are met.
  • Deduction management of highly sophisticated sales programs (rebates, chargebacks, promotions, allowances, etc.).
  • Process credits for product returns, OS&D, pricing discrepancies, freight, and tax.
  • Complex account reconciliation.
  • Build and maintain loyal relationships with all external and internal customers served.
  • Monitor customer account activity so that negative trends in performance are recognized and addressed with customer and business management.
  • Continually evaluate the processes and systems utilized and prepare well-researched recommendations for enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and complete customer files that assist in providing superior service to our customers.
  • Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates, and others who have a need to know.

Your qualifications

Required:
  • Associate degree or three (3) years of B2B collection and/or deduction management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate to advance Excel
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written).
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Effective phone skills (listening, interpreting, evaluating, responding).

Preferred:
  • Cash Application
  • ERP experience (i.e. SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.).
  • Salesforce.com.
