About the role:

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the accounting and finance department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

• Record or review journal entries to account for business activities, ensures completeness, accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensure the accounts balance to underlying support and investigate and resolve any reconciling items
• Prepare monthly comparative for department
• Process high volume cash transactions, loan level activities and closing statements
• Perform analysis of account balances and activity
• Take an active approach to streamline manual processes, identify efficiencies, and improve accounting policies
• Assist with audit requests
• Participate in special projects as deemed necessary

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills
• Extensive experience in performing reconciliations
• CPA designation or candidate
• Large amount of data analysis
• Willingness to collaborate with team and colleagues
• Organized, detail oriented and accurate
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
