Job Description
ECU Transit is currently seeking Vehicle Operators to perform the following duties:

- Completion of a training course involving, but not limited to, online training, classroom training, written work, quizzes/tests, and behind the wheel training.
- Operates a transit vehicle to pick up, transport and discharge passengers while adhering to transit vehicle route schedule and maintaining a pleasant and courteous manner.
- Complete familiarization with system and safety features; geography and roadways of an assigned route and of the entire service area; traffic rules, regulations and laws, and transfer points.
- Provides information on bus services to customers, which includes bus schedules, routes, and area information.
- Receives and transmits two-way radio messages involving accidents, incidents, emergencies, criminal activities, or other authorized ECU Transit business utilizing judgment and discretion to ensure customer and individual safety.
- Performs vehicle operations at varying hours of day and night. Will work outside regular business hours as required by service demands.
- Operates a wheelchair lift, secures passengers wheelchair and assists passengers with disabilities in boarding, riding and alighting in a safe manner which may include pushing a manual wheelchair up a particularly steep ramp.
- Writes reports and completes forms as required, may prepare detailed written reports concerning accidents/ incidents, breakdowns and mechanical defects, as required at the end of their shift.
- Works at least 18-20 hours per week, depending on number of employees.
- Works primarily between 6:00am-2am for bus operators or 6:30pm-2am for On-Demand operators, including some nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Minimum 2.3 GPA
Clean driving history OR not exceeding 3 points (with management approval)
