POSITION OBJECTIVE: Assist the Security Manager with the overall supervision of designated Team Members providing training, hiring, evaluations, and department functions.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall supervision of the Security Department on designated shift. Assist the Security Manager with compliance with Tribal-State Compact and departmental procedures. Assist in the training of Security Officers, Security Dispatchers, Lead Security Officers, and Security Floor Supervisors and in promoting the safety of guests and Team Members. Work with Security Manager, Tribal Gaming Agency and Casino Shift Manager in handling alleged criminal activities, protecting company assets and handling Team Member/guest incidents.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
Required skills and knowledge:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- 4 years of experience and/or training in first responder, law enforcement, or security.
- 3 years of security experience in the gaming industry.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract that must not contain any disqualifying events per the NRWC Safe Driver Policy.
- Knowledge of security and surveillance systems and safety procedures.
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED student and instructor certifications.
- Ability to obtain conflict resolution, defensive tactics, and handcuffing student and instructor certifications.
- Basic math skills.
- Advanced report writing skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
- Ability to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
Preferred skills and knowledge:
- Casino security experience.
- Casino supervisory experience.
- Bi-lingual.
- Knowledge of Tribal-State compact for Class III Gaming and Appendixes.
- Table games protection knowledge.
- Experience with medium to high security locks and keys, such as Medeco, ASSA, Corbin, Etc.
- Ability to manage people.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand or continuously move for assigned shift.
- Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.
- Ability to frequently to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle, feel, or grip objects; stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely.
- Ability to tolerate a noisy, smoke-filled environment; or to be outside for long periods of time and may be exposed to the outside weather.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Account for lost and found property in accordance with established department procedures.
- Acts as the leader for the Security Officer Field Training program, and all training conducted by Lead Security Officers on the assigned shift.
- Assume primary supervisory responsibility for designated shift in absence of Security Manager.
- Communicate essential information to Dispatchers and Emergency Personnel while maintaining professional composure and using proper terminology and etiquette.
- Conducts investigations related to lost or missing keys or prox cards.
- Conducts Security Floor Supervisor/Lead Security Officer/Security Officer/Dispatcher needs analysis to determine training needs; designs and revises training curriculum and methods to improve effectiveness.
- Cooperates with the regulatory agency in the investigation of criminal and civil violations and incidents.
- Follow established key control procedures without compromising the security of the casino.
- Greet and monitor the activity of all guests, both internal and external while providing superior guest service.
- Identify and report suspicious activity to include but not limited to threats of theft, violence, intoxication and/or drug related activity.
- Identify, assess and assist sick or injured guests and Team Members prioritizing per triage guidelines, and provide basic first aid care.
- Knowledge of departmental Guest Service Standards.
- Knowledge of the location, operation, and maintenance of emergency equipment that includes first aid kits, AED's fire extinguishers, wheelchairs, etc. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of all emergency equipment.
- Observe and report security incidents, then complete detailed incident and procedural violation reports.
- Oversee shift compliance with procedures for protecting company assets.
- Oversees staffing and scheduling needs along with the timely completion of department evaluations.
- Participate and qualify in various instructor level training programs such as First Aid/CPR/AED, and training on how to resolve and handle conflict, defensive tactics, handcuffing, etc.

- Participate in the Slot Machine and Table Games drop.
- Patrol casino, safeguard property assets, and identify and report suspicious activity to include but not limited to threats of theft, violence, intoxication, and/or drug-related activity.
- Promote a safe, friendly environment for guests and Team Members.
- Recommends hiring and discipline within the department to the Security Manager.
- Responsible for adherence to safety requirements and Federal OSHA regulations on their designated shift.
- Responsible for multiple projects and tasks assigned by the Security Manager to support the overall operations of the Security department.
- Responsible for Security shift schedules, performance evaluations, reports, time records, documents and equipment.
- Supervise other Security Officers on shift in handling problems and incidents, including Lead Security Officers/Security Floor Supervisors and the field-training program on their shift.
- Working knowledge and skills using the Microsoft Office Suite and technical applications related to physical security.
- Working knowledge of casino rules, policies, activities, and/or promotions in order to assist with guest inquiries.
- Working knowledge of the Casino Emergency Preparedness Action Plan and Incident Command Protocol.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
