Job Summary:

Monitors the activities of the public, patients and employees to maintain a safe environment and insure the security of real estate and personal property. Enforces policies and procedures that relate to security and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.

Department Manuals and Content - Environment of Care (EOC), Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Hospital-wide Policies & Procedures, Departmental Policies & Procedures

2.

Department Structure - Mission, Function, Diversity, Structure, Chain of Command

3.

Meetings - Attendance, Involvement, Training

4.

Communications Systems and Use - Telephone, cellular phone, 2-way radio

5.

Vehicle Use - Driving etiquette, fueling, and checking in / out

6.

Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job related hazards, and national patient safety goals.

7.

Ensures positive customer relations interactions

• Manages difficult or emotional customer situations

• Responds promptly to customer needs

• Solicits customer feedback to improve service
• Responds to requests for service and assistance

Coordinates the collection, return and documentation of patient valuables

Monitors the activities of patients, visitors, employees and public while on Baptist Health Madisonville property to maintain a safe and secure environment.

5.

Monitors all buildings and properties owned by Baptist Health Madisonville to ensure a safe and secure environment is maintained.

6.

Monitors all parking areas of Baptist Health Madisonville to ensure a safe environment is maintained.

7.

Assists in vehicle traffic and crowd control.

8.

Maintains a current KY driver’s license.

9.

Maintains current BCLS.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license and BCLS certification required. IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer Certification is preferred. EXPERIENCE: One year experience in working with general public is preferred.
