What you will do
As a Security Drafter, CAD Operator you will prepare various complete low-voltage Access Control, Video and other Applications CAD drafting design shop drawings, submittals.
How you will do it
Work with a designer to prepare CAD drawings based on project requirements that include various low-voltage electrical system drawings such as Access Control, Video, Security, Intercom and other applications. Drawings include floor plan layouts, riser drawings, electrical interconnection drawings; installation termination drawings, device circuit wiring; control cabinet layouts; dimensional equipment mounting instructions; operations, matrixes, technical charts and interpret field record drawings, calculations, and other diagrams as needed .
Support internal customer by addressing questions and other support requests.
Interact with other team members to accomplish tasks, achieve common goals, solve problems, resolve conflicts, and measure achievements.
Record drawings to meet Local & State A.H.J. requirements.
Prepare advanced system wiring configurations, and project submittal drawings using AutoCAD, REVIT, Blue Beam, JCI Design Tools and following JCI Drawing Standards.
Perform other system configurations/calculations in accordance with project specifications and other project documentation as advised by field engineering.
Maintain project drawing files , and associated records and documentation in an orderly condition per the National Design Group standards and per JCI Design Standards & policies
Prepare basic system wiring configurations, and project submittal drawings.
Use JCI Drawing Peer Review Checklist to Check accuracy of own work prior to review by assigned design associate.
Operate and maintain large format scanner, and reproduction equipment’s, CAD equipment, and other drawing reproduction equipment.
Perform other related duties as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
High School/Trade School graduate.
Associates Degree in electronics or Certificate Program preferred.
Skilled in use of AutoCAD versions 2018 and higher.
Solid understanding of MS Office Site (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Ability to work with direction, independently or as a member of a team.
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple assignments and responsibilities.
Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
Effective and professional communication skills including the ability to optimally communicate with internal and external customers.
Experience
Minimum five years CAD drafting with the latest AutoCAD version 2020/2022. Equivalent experience in field considered.
Knowledgeable of MS office products and use of MS Windows operating system.
Proficient in reading and understanding Architectural, Electrical layouts and diagrams.
Excellent written and oral communication skills needed.
NICET Level II or higher Fire Alarm Certification is required.
Basic REVIT/BIM experience is a plus.
Knowledge Access Control, Video, Intercom, and security system principles a plus.
Basic knowledge of low voltage electrical system schematics and diagrams a plus.
