Pierson Computing Connection, Inc. (Pierson), a woman-owned company, needs two part-time warehouse team members for the 2023 summer season in our climate-controlled warehouse. Pierson’s seasonal Warehouse Associates work 30-40 hours per week now through the beginning of September 2023.

Location: 10 Long Lane, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050

Wages: $17.50 per hour

Job Summary

The Warehouse Associate provides support to Pierson’s Operation teams by maintaining an organized, safe warehouse.

Job Description

Job duties include the following:

• Loading and unloading trucks. Must be able to lift 100 pounds as a two-person lift
• Moving heavy boxes
• Inventory counts
• Trash collection, sorting, disposal
• Order picking
• Parts assembly
• Shipping and receiving
• Operate pallet jacks and various forklifts

Competencies

• Possess valid driver’s license
• Able to communicate effectively
• Able to follow directions

Position Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation. Our warehouse is not on a bus line
• Able to pass a drug test and PA State Police background/criminal history check* at Pierson’s expense

*At minimum, no misdemeanors in the past 5 years, no felonies in the past 10 years, and no violations described in Section 111 of the Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949. Exclusions and exceptions apply.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time overtime-eligible position. The work schedule will fall within our warehouse’s normal operating hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with an unpaid 30-minute lunch. Some overtime is possible requiring the ability to occasionally work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with management approval. These positions are guaranteed 30 hours a week.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Able to lift up to 100 pounds to chest height
• Able to push or pull up to 75 pounds
• Able to walk 5 to 10 miles per day

Required Education and Experience

The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

Preferred Education and Experience

The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

• One-year forklift experience

Additional Eligibility Requirements

Upon offer of employment, selected candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, including marijuana, and Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record background check at Pierson’s expense.

Reports To

This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Travel

Less than 10%. Travel is primarily local during the business day, if needed, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel in a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate.
