Job Summary: The Jupiter Christian School Security Officer must be a spiritually sensitive individual who understands the mission and philosophy of Jupiter Christian School and is committed to help see it become a reality in the lives of our students by manifesting, by precept and example, the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (I Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school (Luke 6:40), and as an example to parents and fellow employees in judgement, dignity, respect, and Christian living according to the Standards of Conduct outlined in the JCS employee handbook. The Security Officer must be a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity that will enable him/her to demonstrate God’s truth. The ability to communicate well with various types of people, handle confidential information appropriately, maintain a courteous, professional, and respectful attitude and integrity in all situations are pre-requisite. This position will collaborate with the other security officers on staff and will report directly to the Operations Manager.

• General Description of Responsibilities.
• The Security Officer is responsible for daily oversight of the grounds of his or her assigned campus in order to prevent or respond to any threats.
• In coordination with the Operations Manager, the Security Officer will ensure that safety protocols are followed, such as but not limited to: locking doors and gates during the day, checking exterior gates, surveying the perimeter for potential threats.
• The Security Officer will respond to RAPTOR alerts
• Essential Job Requirements
• Provide visible safety and security for faculty, staff and students
• Oversee safety and security policies set in place by school administration.
• Assist in coordinating any medical evacuation of faculty, staff and students.
• Must meet requirements and hold current State of Florida Security Officer “G” and “D” Licenses.
• Must be on campus from 7:00am until the end of after care.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Summer Requirements
• Cover East Campus during camp times, 8:30am-12:30pm
• Assist Facilities for capital projects during summer hours
• Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Personal faith in Jesus Christ and ability to articulate that faith to others
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated commitment to servant leadership.
• Extensive experience with and knowledge of safety and security
• Ability to respond professionally to inquiries and complaints from students, parents, faculty, staff and various constituencies of the school.
• Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong writing and documentation skills, including the ability to produce various reports and proposals for administrative review.

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience
• A minimum seven years’ experience in areas related to the performance of duties associated with the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
