Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served.
• Clean and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
• Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment.
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Bake breads, rolls, cookies and other pastries.
• Monitor menus and spending to ensure that meals are prepared economically.
• Plan menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced, and appetizing, taking advantage of foods in season and local availability.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency
• Previous cook/kitchen experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must have or be willing to obtain Serve Safe Certification.
