We are Aspire Living & Learning, a non-profit human services agency making a meaningful difference in the lives of adults and children with autism and other disabilities. Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking an enthusiastic Full - Time School Nurse to join our existing team of highly dedicated and successful professionals.

We are currently seeking a Full - Time registered nurse for our private, state approved special education school located in Naugatuck, CT. Responsibilities include:

• Serves as a member of the school team as the designated health professional (attends PPTs as needed)
• Maintains records according to Connecticut state requirements
• Oversees compliance with state mandated physical examinations and immunization requirements
• Coordinates the administration of prescribed medications and treatments for students
• Trains designated staff in medication administration according to state regulations
• Develops individual health care plans for students as needed
• Per state regulations, performs vision, hearing and postural screenings
• Serves as a resource for school staff with regards to health care issues and disease prevention
• Provides health care treatment to injured or sick students and staff

Qualifications:

• Valid state of Connecticut Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing
• BSN preferred, but not required
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the behavioral/mental health field or special education.
